Just a note to reassure everyone that pending no second wave of Covid 19, the Woodbridge Fair people will be holding a weigh-off the logistics of which are as yet to be decided. I talked today with Jamie Maynard who is on the fair board executive and they are working to have this as one of their feature events. They are approaching a major food wholesalers in their area to ask for funding and support with it. Jamie was very positive in his thinking on how they could carry this out. There is no doubt in my mind that they will be practicing a safe scenario for the growers and the audiences. Again this year, we will need the help of the growers of the GVGO to help with the weigh-off itself. Please send us some indication that you could help with this and that you are growing this year. This could end up being the premium show of the year. Dave McCallum

Okay... you can coach me and whip me into shape. First thing is I apologize for publishing my grower diary in general discussion. I will try and correct that.
Awesome Dave. Glad to hear your dipping your toes in the water once more with one more try at it. We'll be cheering for you. With the virus going on it should keep you home in the patch more, so we are looking forward to seeing your results.
We wish you all the best & hope that you grow a new PB.
20 Diary
Well after coaxing Barb that I needed to grow one more year, I started some plants for here at Hanover and some others for other growers. I was really enthused by the vitality of the Kline 1458 which I started on April 3rd. It had a good chance to acclimatize for weeks in and out of our garage and onto the driveway but I planted it and the others last week end after the danger of frost seem ended. The soil temperature was getting better each day and I opened the holes early to let the sun warm the surrounding soil as best it could before I planted them. The 1458 Kline 2019 was from the 1766 Kline X 1911 Urena.
The next one I selected was the 1674 Clement 2019 that was from the 1959 Hunt X 1843 Werner started on April 4th
I then picked two squashes to manage only four plants here at Hanover. The first picked was the 1109 Jutras from the 927 Jutras X 1844.5 Holub. This was started on April !5th
