We have experienced great quantities if rain here in Martintown, several gardens are under water after the past 24 hr downpour. also cool temps. Jim is somewhat discouraged. How is everyone else coping with the wet weather?

we are in a dry spell now. We could really use a decent rain now. About 1" would do for a few days & fill up my rain tanks.
Aug 28 first day of watering, but we are fortunate not to be hit with the damaging weather in Texas. Prayers for the people of Texas.
4 days no rain, first stretch in 10 weeks. pumpkins behind, but good growth past few days. all squash aborted, tomato plants sickly with few blossoms. long gourd vines looking ok, but no gourds. the regular pumpkin patch of 10 varieties is a joke. Is there a category for largest weed?
good luck everyone!
Another 2" of rain yesterday. Our pumpkins will be floating soon, if the rain doesn't slow down some. It suppose to rain again today & then get 2 days of sun before it scheduled to rain again on Monday. Maybe it's time to build an ark. ;o)
We still haven't had to water yet this season, except to add our compost Tea. It's done once a week on either Sat or Sunday.
I said I would never complain again about the rain after last year but it is a bit much have had some nice warm days finally and things looking up, last year I hauled 250 gallons a day every day in July just to keep plants alive , good luck and have fun
Hi Jim & Teresa
You guys got hammered over there. I can feel your frustration. Hopefully it'll dry up soon. We got 1/2" on Sunday night/Monday morning. Yesterday was just a cloudy day. Depending on the conditions we might give them a light watering tomorrow. If so, this will be our 1st watering of the season. It's been the wettest season for us since we started. Our plants are finally starting to turn to a nice green after a long spell of being yellowish green for most of June & 1/2 of July.
We wish you all the best.
