Just started some watermelons today. Idk, maybe it's a bit early for that, we'll see.
Paper towel and baggie method is my favourite that I've tried so far
My Cabbage is getting huge. I'm putting a cover out in the garden this weekend to start warming soil for its transplant (2 weeks? I hope...)
Some onions at various stages of growth. They dont look great, but the plant shelves are getting kinda crowded, so that may be part of it
Here are some carrots that just germinated too.
I've got some rutabaga planted, but not germinated yet. The rest of the plants are just normal garden plants, tons of peppers and tomatoes.
Sorry I haven't updated, but the site is kind of a pain, so I'm just posting to my Instagram instead. If you want to see how it's going, take a look

Started 5 new tomatoes
My 719.5 isn't terrible, but it doesn't look that good yet
The 2537 is looking best of Pumpkins, but still extremely slow. Looks to me like Mg deficiency, so I watered with epsom salts.
The 1838 Jutras is looking good. Hopefully it also takes off the next week.
Finally got my Cabbage support frame out. Hopefully it also starts growing
Started the first batch of tomatoes. Next 5 weeks or so I'll started about 25-30 total plants. I have space for 15, and my dad has space for 5 or 6, so we need a bunch.
Also started some feild Pumpkins, I had forgotten about them, so I got them going this morning.
The 2537 is looking okay, but really slow growth. I'm really hopeful that it takes off soon and I can still have a late June/early July pollination
I was trying to save seeds from last year's rutabaga, but apparently replanting after it gets weighed, doesn't work so well. It seems to have rotted out all the way, so I'm going to have to find someone to trade seeds with for some rutabaga this fall.
Started some sunflowers! Aiming for 18 feet this year.
Started some Bushel Gourd. Let's see if we can hit 250. Getting out to hand pollinate will be the big thing this year. No long gourds this year though because we need to rebuild the trellis.
The Pumpkins needed more space. I suppose that's what happens when you start them in old sour cream containers.
The 2537 is happy in its new home! Also got the 1838 Jutras squash and one of the 719.5 Pumpkins out. Also potted a couple others into 4 L pots. Forecast looks good, except for next Tuesday and Wednesday night, so we'll have to give them some blankets for it then.
Here's one of the watermelons that got bugger pots. The roots aren't too bad, so I wasn't far off of the right start date. The 220.5 Smily and 301.5 McCaslin both look nice. Hopefully I'll get 1 or 2 planted out in around a week
Tons of germination on the Pumpkins and squash. Currently waiting for 2/8 Pumpkins, and 4/7 squash. In 48 hours. The 2537 looks like it was hours away from popping, so ill probably get it potted tonight, or tomorrow. Going to run out of space for all these seedlings!
Started my 7 squash seeds, 5 will go in the ground
The 1507.5 Sproule, 1126 Kline, 1838 Jutras, 1652.5 Zappa, 1528 Sikorski, as well as a 204 of our own (381 DeVisser×1533 Kline)
Also started Pumpkins, got the 1728 Johnson, 1747.5 MacKenzie, 1689 Tessier, and the most exciting one, the 2537 Crews, as well as 2 of my own 719.5 DeVisser (1608 Bryson×952.5 McCallum) hopefully I can do the 2537 justice and get a good one from it.
Transplanted my Cabbage out as well, the forecast doesn't look great, but it needed more space. Hopefully a couple blankets and some warm water bottles will keep it warm and toasty on the 2 0° days next week. After that the lows are all around 5° though, which it should be fine with.
Last years rutabaga looks like its coming back nicely, so we should have seeds this fall, but none of the 96.5 Hunt wanted to start, so I dont think we'll have any this year
My Cabbage is still doing amazing, hopefully the ground will thaw enough and i can transplant it outside in the next 2 weeks, if it doesnt go to seed, it will be an awesome Cabbage by the fall.
My watermelons have mostly all popped. Im only missing 1 of the 7 seeds, so pretty decent germination rate.
