Got hit with two hard frost in a week . My plant is pretty much finished. My weight off is Oct 6th. Hopefully it makes it to the scale. I was really hoping for 1000lbs but I don't think I'll reach my goal this year. I'm trying to keep it dry now so rot doesn't start
My 2363 Holland taped 321 Ott(762lbs) today. Its still growing but slowing averaging about 10lbs a day. I started foliar feeding every day to try and get as many pounds out of it that I can. I was hoping for my first 1000lbs but its still quite a few pounds away. My personal best is 838lbs so if I beat that it would be nice.
The plants are starting to bounce back little by little after the wind and rain beat the snot out of them. They won't win a beauty contest but they are still growing that's the main thing
2363 hit the wall in the 10'x8' cold frame. Temperatures still aren't warming up so I had to improvise and extended the cold frame. Fingers crossed for warmer weather.
Not having a good day 75km winds blew my new 10'x 8' cold frame off my 2002 Tobeck. I scrambled and made a make shift wind break with bales of straw. I hope there's not too much damage
Temperatures aren't warming up much and my pumpkin plants are starting to outgrow the hoop houses. I started building 10' x 8' cold frames to house them until the weather warms up.
Hoop houses are in place. When the soil warms and dries up a little I'll bury my heating cables. I decided to cut back to 3 plants this year to see if I can do a better job looking after them.
Soil is so loose I can easily bury my broadfork 14" deep. Going to keep the tractor off the patch from now on and do the rest of the patch work by hand. Hopefully I can keep the soil this loose. Going to build some walking planks this year.
Lifting day today. Weigh off tomorrow.

2363 is still on top. First female blossom at 8'. Secondary vines are starting to grow.
2150 Skinner was my slowest plant starting out but it's finally taking a growth spurt and is catching . Really big leaves
2002 survived the high winds last weekend.

2150 Skinner isn't that far behind the 2002.

New pump for the patch. I'm going to hook it up to two 1000 liter totes
Finally had a nice day yesterday 21° back down to 5° today. Plants are surviving but I've got my fingers crossed this cold spring warms up fast!
All tucked in for their first night outside.

Going to try soil warming cables this year. I attached it with zip ties to a piece of snow fence. Hopefully the fence doesn't affect the root systems.

Got my patch plowed up today. Soil is nice and loose. Snow storm in the forecast for Sunday....GRrrrrrr.
