I am not sure how many people are growing these. Mine was ribbon vined among other things. I terminated the main vine at 10 feet and used 5 secondary vines to fill up the rest of the space as fast as possible (maple tree pattern?). I have a few sets and the thing I noticed are exceptionally long stems and long oval fruit.

The stem on my keeper is about 30cm (1 foot) now and growing. It is only day 9 but should easily meet the 1200 lb benchmarks tomorrow although on a secondary vine.

Anybody else wish to share their experiences with this plant?

I have the same thing here Brad, all stems are very long and all three fruit are long and oval. STrong plant and seems quite healthy. Hoping for great things from this plant.

Good point Jarvis.

My day 10 is about 2.9" above the 1200 benchmarks. Not bad for a side vine squash while there is a large day 20 on another side vine that will be axed today.

Just hoping I have enough time before the weigh-off on this late set to get to 1237 lbs...

Brad

You picked the right seed if you want to beat the old record... Wink

I am hearing a lot of pollination stress this year. Squash can usually be a problem and this was compounded this year. Unfortunately, I think there are a few open 1236* plants out there. After breaking off the main vine on my 1236*, i finally got a late set on a new main. The fruit hit 38" cc on day 10 and is also a very oval fruit with a very long stem. The blossom end was a little disturbing as it was a bit of a monkey butt!

It looks a lot better now. Its 16 days today.

Most I have seen are oval with long stems. Many have wicked large blossom ends.
