Looking for some general info on field pumpkins...Have 3 plants...one has close to 10 different pumkins growing on it and the other two plants have yet to show a female yet...Is this common?? also do I just let the 10 pumpkins go or do I cull a couple of the later ones??  anything I can do to the other 2 plants to encourage some females??

thanks in advance

Jim

I take it these are not for size? Ten one plant is good, but not uncommon. No female showing happens. I have one this year, but I think it has something to do with watering in my case. They all abort when the size of a pea as the plant struggles to stay alive.

Keeping all ten is an option, though if you cull a few, the others will likely grow a bit bigger.
