2010 Patch Tour

Below are the details for the patch tour 2010 Version on SaturdayAugust 21st. It will be in the Southwest portion of the province with the meal and final stop taking place at the Gardens of Fred and Dorothy Hain.

I will put the times down at a later date but here is the info and they are all quite close to each other so we will probably start with a time of 8:30 at the first stop.

The newsletter had it as Sunday August 21st but it is saturday August 21st - please confirm attendance

 Westchester Bourne/County Road 25/County Road 74 S  

Stop # 1
Art and Deb Johnston
11153 Belmont Rd., St. Thomas

Head south on Westchester Bourne/County Road 25/County Road 74 S toward Cromarty Dr
Continue to follow County Road 74 S
Destination will be on the right  15.4 km about 17 min

Stop #2

10731 Belmont Rd., St Thomas

Head south on Belmont Rd/County Road 74 S toward Ron McNeil Line/County Road 52
Destination will be on the right  1.0 km  about 1 min

Stop #3

43660 Fruit Ridge Line, St Thomas

 Head southwest on Belmont Rd/County Road 74 S toward Edgeware Line  3.2 km
 Turn right at Talbot Line/ON 3 W  5.2 km
 Turn left at Centennial Rd/County Road 28 (signs for Centennial Avenue)  1.7 km
 Turn right at Elm St  29 m
 Take the 1st left onto Centennial Rd  4.9 km
 Turn right at Fruit Ridge Line  750 m
 Destination will be on the right 15.7 km ? about 20 mins

Stop #4
Fred and Dorothy Hain
1685 Commissioners Rd E London, ON  N6M 1E7

 Head east on Fruit Ridge Line toward Centennial Rd  750 m
 Take the 1st left onto Centennial Rd  4.9 km
 Turn right at Elm St (signs for County Road 56)  29 m
 Take the 1st left onto Centennial Rd  1.7 km
 Continue straight onto Talbot Line/ON 3 W  1.2 km
 Continue onto Centennial Ave  550 m
 Turn right at Highbury Ave/County Road 30
Continue to follow Highbury Ave  15.0 km
 Turn right at Highbury Ave S  4.4 km
 Take the Commissioners Road ramp  350 m
 
 Turn right at Commissioners Rd E
 Destination will be on the right  2.7 km 31.5 km ? about 39 mins

This is the GVGO's only summer get together & I would suggest that all the newer growers come & see what the pros are doing in their patch. It's also a great way to meet your fellow members & visit with old friends. Don't miss this fun event. We look forward to seeing you all there. Take care & good luck.

Don't forget your lawn chairs and umbrellas ( in case of rain ). There will be coffee and goodies at the first stop and refreshments available throughout the rest of the  tour (pop and water).

Lunch should be at noon. I think everything will be wrapped up by 2:00 at the latest,or earlier for those wishing to get started home.

There was a slight error in the news letter on the date of the tour. I wanted to make sure that everyone knows that the patch tour is on Saturday August 21, arrival is between 8:00 and 9:00 at Art's place.

We are looking for an appoximate head count . If you are planning on coming, could you post on this link.

 If you know any growers who are planning to come but are not on the internet, please inform them of the mix up in the new letter and post for them.
